My name is Emily.

I love people in love.

I cry at every wedding.

I own a striped umbrella. Everyone should.

I love my pug. His name is Edward.

I dream of having a house with enough closet hooks for my scarves and hats.

Laughing is great.

I believe there is nothing better than a day with the people you love.

And I absolutely love to take photos.

And this is my blog. Expect to see people in love, expect to laugh and read, and expect to see what I love and why I love it! Welcome to my blog. I am glad you are here.

Yesterday I was shown by two lovely ladies who are very well versed in princess-properness how to dance like a princess; and they even included a princess fashion show. Mia told me that we must have "fancy" music to dance to and she and Kayla were going to teach me everything that is necessary for princess dancing. I sure was amazed by how many "moves" there are.

Kayla's move quite often went like this (as she called it a pwweee-aaaaaa...I think that mean plie, pronounced plee-ayah). I think this move contains 3 parts: the crouch down, the hands in the air and the one arm flail out to the side.

And Mia loved to spin and spin and spin. I think she just liked to see her dress poof out to the sides.

The dancing was soon followed by the fashion show so that they could show me and their baby sister their princess attire. We saw everything from pink and blue boas to purple high heels and ballet shoes, and glittery crowns, butterfly wings, dazzling bracelets, fluffy tu-tus and even Mia's favorite gold sparkly dress (which you see in many pictures). I think these outfits may show up in Princess Weekly soon---just you wait :)

And then things just got silly...
princess.jpgThe rest of the day consisted of cookie baking and a tea party with all of the stuffed dogs in the house. It was a fun day and the best part is that I get to go back next week and take pictures of their baby sister because she is already 6 months old! So, stay tuned for more princesses from the Evan's house next week...

Today I opened up "Kristine's Restaurant" for dinner - Benj and Cate ate the gourmet meals of hot dogs and mandarin oranges. They got to use a glowing pen to call me, their waitress, when they needed something. BOY did that go awry too quickly. But, alas, no princess fashion shows here yet.

Oh and by the way, great images, sister!

So, although this session was about a month ago, I can't help but show you because it was one of my favorite of the fall. The Frantas have three beautiful and stunning little kids and I get the privilege of seeing them quite often :) We decided to do their session around their home and on this super cool grassy hill near their house which was CHIIILY because the wind was terrible that day. I am impressed that you can't tell much in the photos how FRIGID it was; no red or runny noses for us! :)

Buchannon was almost six months old already! Whew....time flies

This is probably one of my most favorite pictures ever...the look on Frankie's face and the way she is looking at me is absolutely amazing.
(and of course Mr. Bear had to be with us in the picture-taking-fun to.....)

I fell in love with Nixon's hat. I wish I had one of my own with those ear flaps :)

This one nearly made me cry when I saw it out of the camera :)
She loves her daddy so much...

This picture cracks me up.....I love that Nixon and Buchanon are the only ones looking at the camera! I would love to have this above my mantle :)

Off to find the most perfect tree to stand under. You can tell by the movement in Frankie's arms that she has this one picked out :)

And so it did....ALOT. When a family has a portrait scheduled and Mother Nature decides to take a turn for the worse and dump inches upon inches of snow on the ground, what else is there to do besides go sledding? Nikki and I talked this morning on the phone before the session and decided that why cancel the session because of just a little tiny bit of snow (which turned out to be blizzardy with over 7 inches). Pierce, who will be two in January, was so excited that he got to take pictures AND go sledding with Mommy and Daddy together.

We had a blast...and Pierce did too!

Isn't Dillon's face in this picture just priceless??? Its the "Uh-OH-we-are-going-to-run-into-that-tree-trunk-if-we-don't-slow-down" face....(unfortunately we ALL know THAT face).

Shelby is the most precious little two week old ever---she is fairly calm and even showed some smiles for the camera especially when Mom took the diaper off and she pooped all over our clean white blanket. She gave us a big smile after that because she knew that something had made Mom nervous!

Her little ears, little fingers and perfect dark eyes were so tender as she lay in the nice warm white blanket for her first ever portraits! Merry Christmas Mom!!!

I think that this next one was the "after" of the poppy mess....isn't she perfect?

I love her fingers in these next few---I am not sure she knew what she was even doing! :)

Last week I got to spend the morning with one of the cutest three month old little boys---his name is Max. This will be Max's first Christmas with his 2 older brothers and I am sure they will show him everything he needs to know about opening presents with them!

Max has the most stunning blue eyes and has a smirk that will grab you from across the room. He wasn't too excited about getting in front of the camera at first but after awhile he warmed up a bit and we became good buddies. I get the privilege of seeing Max every three months or so with our "Year in the life of" baby package and I can not wait to see how he grows up---he already is a handsome little guy!

Max-3-months-005.jpg Max-3-months-010.jpg
I thought that his pouting face was hilarious---he didn't cry much, but the faces he made were about enough to make me feel sorry for him that I was making him smile. :)
Max-3-months-013.jpg Max-3-months-019.jpg
I told you his eyes were STUNNING (and I wasn't kidding).
Max-3-months-027.jpg Max-3-months-034.jpg Max-3-months-037.jpg Max-3-months-043.jpg Max-3-months-045.jpg

And we brought out the hats......

Merry Christmas Max.....I can't wait to see you again!

A fun fall afternoon (I know...it is way beyond fall..but I am behind on the blogging) the 3 girls, Mom and I headed out for a shoot. Mia is four, Kayla is two and Lela is three months and the best part (as you can see) is their matching knit outifts. I don't know what you think, but a girl in a knit dress just makes me smile....especially a cute one!

We had a fun time playing in the leaves and building many, many, many leaf piles to jump in and throw on each other...

Evans-OCT08-001.jpg
Kayla was trying to figure out what she was seeing when she looked at me through my camera lens...oooo the curiosity of a toddler.
Evans-OCT08-005.jpg Evans-OCT08-008.jpg
Now.....for some fun IN the leaves...
Evans-OCT08-019.jpg Evans-OCT08-030.jpg Evans-OCT08-053.jpg Evans-OCT08-056.jpg
Kayla was having some serious fun rolling aroundEvans-OCT08-073.jpg Evans-OCT08-075.jpg Evans-OCT08-082.jpg
After awhile you can see that Kayla got the hang of throwing the leaves on Mia...I guess that Mia is a pretty good teacher. The look on Mia's face in this series is absolutely priceless...
Evans-OCT08-collage.jpgThis is another one of my faves too....they just sat down and Mia put her arm around Kayla and made her cuddle in close! How cute are they together.....I can't wait until Lela grows up and all three of them can sit together......
Evans-OCT08-091.jpgAnd even Lela got tuckered out from watching her sisters play in the leaves...she fell asleep.
